(Day 1 – Day 7) – Phase 2 – Sample Menu and Comments

Day 1 – Phase 2 (VLCD) = Very Low Calorie Diet

First: When I open my eyes… I stand up & get on the Scale… you’re the lightest after sleeping 😉  I do NOT get on the scale again until the next morning.. ( I have a notepad next to my bed to write in as soon as I get the weight number)

Second: I go turn the coffee pot on and take my HCG drops… REMEMBER **no, food or drink 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after taking the drops. Place drops under your tongue and hold for 15 seconds before swallowing.

I go about the morning waiting on the coffee…get dressed…wake up a bit.

Okie Dokie 20 minutes is past…. here we go:

**COFFEE DRINKERS**
I am a milk/sugar coffee drinker. So I use my “1tbl milk” allowance for the day in my coffee ( I use it in 3 portions, as I drink 3 cups of coffee in the morning.) – just enough to cut the black of the coffee.
If you are a coffee drinker…just be HAPPY now and thank the good folks at HCG for NOT taking this away 😉 hehehe

Breakfast:
(7c-for the milk I drink 2%) Coffee – tiny touch of Stevia (a little touch will do ya)
(86c) 1 med orange
* I  ration my orange, I eat half with coffee and the other ½ about an hour later*

Lunch:
(110c) 100 gr chicken
(15c) 100gr cucumber ( I cut mine into .25” slices…makes me feel like I get more…hehehe. I eat ½ with the chicken and the other ½ an hour later or when I just REALLY need something on my stomach.

Snack:
(20c)- 1 Melba Toast
(44c)- Half a grapefruit

Dinner:
(137c) 100gr hamburger
** I use 96% lean and I still MASH the patties in paper towels after cooking to get ALL the grease out!**
(27c) Tomato slices 1cup
(32c) ½ cup red onion
( **I grill my onions first before cooking the hamburger and season it with garlic powder and onion powder.)

Before Bed Snack:
(22c) 150gm cucumber

Notes to self from the day:

I remember when I ate grapefruit at breakfast and dug it out with the little spoon…la la la…lots still left, oh well no time, gotta run… And now…hahaha. I peel it like an orange and GLADLY eat the tough skin….hehehe…see new change already 😉

At lunch I found it’s a lot of cucumber for 100gr. Keep this in mind. Approved foods shows I get 45c of cucumber that’s 300gr!!…woo hoo that’s now added to the favorite list!!

Wow at dinner I found 149gr of tomato is A LOT…woo hoo…yeah…
hahaha really….really… I am this excited over veggies…hehehe. I feel good rationed my food well throughout the today.

Did my 30 minutes bike ride for the day…slow and easy didn’t over exert myself, was nice for fresh air, cleared my head and focused on my goal.

Day 2 – Phase 2 (VLCD) = Very Low Calorie Diet

Ok here we go…first official weigh day, fingers crossed, oh wait…I better go pee first(everything helps…lol), deep breath…blow it fully out no extra air weight…on the scale… woo hoo 2lbs Less !! Good job Jen…little spring in my step, yes ready to start day 2!!

Breakfast:

(44c) ½ grapefruit

Dinner:
(147c) 100gr Lean Beef Steak (seasoned with garlic, onion & chili powder…used a little vinegar to mix and give tang taste) worked well!
(32c) 1/2cup (80gr) red onion sliced and grilled in pan, with a little water and lemon juice, then seasoned after…

Before Bed:
(10c) 1/2 melba toast

**notes to self**

I am really liking the orange in the morning. ½ with coffee ½ about an hour later…keep doing this.

Dinner was divine! The steak turned out great…felt like I was cheating… happy day. Found new phase 2 recipes online…will start trying things tomorrow.

(95c) 182gr Apple (ate ½ rationed other)

Snack:
2nd half of the apple

Lunch:
(137c) 100gr Hamburger
(27c) 149gr tomato

Mid Day:
(20c) Melba Toast
(43c) ½ orange

Dinner:
(140) 85gr Beef Steak (had to eat the rest from yesterday)
HOMEMADE  SALSA – woo Hoo this was AWESOME

Before Bed:

Salsa recipe AWESOME….sssooo yummy. Perfect with the steak!
Great day over all…need to plan getting meals ready day before kind of lost myself today…. better to make before than to try to rush it together… over all a great day

**NOTES*
I came in a touch under today from trying the new recipes, was REALLY full.

Was a GREAT day though! the recipes were wonderful and now have tomorrow already mapped out!

Chili- ROCKED…and made extra so I could freeze it for later…PERFECT

**NOTES**
Woo Hoo…I am ssooo proud of myself today! Is Father-In-Law’s B-day today and we go out to eat….at a ‘pancake house’…geesh…lol… (common here in Holland) – anywho… I told my MIL that I was going to have to take my own plate… and the reply….”awww can’t you just have one night off”. I said, nope not this time…sticking to my guns! I feel great and am really proud of myself… added the strawberries in for tonight so when everyone else is having dessert….I got my strawberries… Yeah me….my first time to NOT let the desire to cheat win… I feel so good!

**Notes for the day**
Man I came in WAY under…couldn’t help it though, always on my 2nd day of TOM…no hunger, ate all I could just couldn’t eat today.
But I drank a gallon of water – so hopefully that helps..
took a nice 1/2 hour bike ride was nice weather…all in all good day

Woo-Hoo I have made it a FULL week !!! yeah me
just weighed- am now 10lbs LESS – Go Jen…Go Jen…

(20c) 1- melba toast
(27c) 149gr tomato

(110c) 100gr Chicken (if weather willing on the BBQ today
** Note- On BBQ I use NO coals- I use only wood**
